Hello everybody and today on this post I will be talking about my AMAZING 3 days at CAMP OTY OKWA!!! I will tell you what I enjoyed about camp, what really made camp special for me, what did I like best about camp and what will I remember the most about Camp Oty Okwa. Yep that's what I will be writing about. Enjoy. What I really enjoyed about camp is probably going to Split Rock. Split Rock was an amazing feature at camp, it was a mixture of beauty and mystery. Why it was beautiful is when you look at the rocks you could see little crystals in the rocks. Also when you would get to the back of Split Rock you could see everything there, you could all the beautiful trees from that view. It was mysterious because you wouldn't know what you would run into next when you would turn left you wouldn't know if it was a dead end or another adventure in another direction. What made camp special for me was the Final Fire. The Final Fire was special to me because I thought it was cool how much the Camp Oty Okwa staff members care about that place, that they have that strong of a connection to that place and they wanted to share that with us. Also the skits were special for me. The skits that we performed were so funny. It surprised me that the teachers came up with a skit, and theirs were one of the best. But my favorite one was probably where all of them went WEE!!! That skit was hilarious. What I will remember most about camp is the Final Fire. Why I will remember the Final Fire the most is the reason that we did it. The way we put so much respect into it and we spiced it up with a little humor in it. Like I said in the paragraph above, the skits were hilarious. All of them were hilarious. What was really funny was that the teachers came up with a skit on there own and I think that was the one everybody enjoyed the most. Well there you go, there is a little bit what I did at Camp Oty Okwa. Make sure to tune in for my next post and here are some links to the Camp Oty Okwa sit.http://www.campotyokwalodging.com/

The thing I enjoyed most about camp Oty'Okwa was the"Final Fire" on our last night there. I enjoyed the Hikes and the classes too, but the "Final Fire" was by far my favorite activity we did. It was so much fun! I liked the skits we did during the fire. The skits were all funny, and even the group leaders were doing skits! My favorite skit was the one where Brylee was a fortune teller and she told everyone's fortune. At the end Mr. McGuire came out and he gave her his shoe and she threw it! I thought that was really funny!
My group's skit was called "A Good Looking Horse". It was the one where Caroline came riding in on a good looking horse with a few people behind her. She rode into the town where me and a few other people were standing. When Caroline stopped, Joslyn asked for the horse and said she'd give Caroline 100 dollars for it. Caroline said, "No, it doesn't look very good." So Rylee said she'd give Caroline 200 dollars for it. Caroline told her that she'd give the horse to the person with the highest bid. Everybody came up to her and started yelling a whole bunch of numbers until Jessica said, "10,000 dollars!" So Caroline gave her the horse. Jessica started to ride away on it, but the horse ran into a tree. Jessica told Caroline she sold her a blind horse and Caroline said, "I told you it didn't look very good!" I thought our skit was pretty funny! Doing the skits made the Final Fire a special event for me!
I also liked it when Wormz and Willow told the story about the two kids making the fire. I really liked how they acted out the story! I think it made the story more interesting. The story was pretty funny too! I liked it at the end of the story when they had us say the kid's names from the story a few times and the fire started. I thought it was a pretty creative idea! Wormz and Willow did a great job with their story!
As I think back on camp over the next few years, I will remember having fun with all of my groups and making new friends. While I was at camp, I made a lot of new friends just from hiking and talking with them for a few hours. Some of the new friends I made was Carrie, Natasha, Joslyn and Caroline. Some of the people I became better friends with is Alexis Dennison, Jessica and Rylee. I had fun being in our trail group with all of them.
Camp was so much fun! I will always remember those three days that we were there. I made new friends, got to do funny skits, and just had fun! I hope you enjoyed my post about camp!

The experience at Camp Oty' Okwa was awesome. There were so many fun things to do. For example, I went to Split rock for the second time. Split rock is a lot of big rocks/boulders that you can climb. We also explored many different caves. One of these caves was counselor's cave. There were several classes. The classes that I had were all really fun. My classes were geology, forest ecology, orienteering, and survival.
It is hard to choose which one was the most fun because they were all fun. I think the class that was the most fun had to be survival. In survival to complete our task we had to build a shelter, find food, a water source, and build a fire . The people in my survival group were Cade, Jersey, Seth P., and myself. My group was the only group that successfully started a fire. Our shelter was a cave by a water fall. Our last requirement was the food. There were not many berries around our area, but there was a small creek so we could catch crawl dads . The Hemlock tree leaves were edible as well. My group won the contest.
Camp Oty' Okwa was an awesome experience. I will remember my sixth grade year at camp. I will never forget Split Rock, survival class, Reptiles, all the cool caves, that knots on tree's are actually a tree's version of a tumor, the hilarious skits, and the experience at the camp fire. I thought camp was great whatever way you describe it.

At camp the one thing I will remember is when Mr. Mcguire came in my cabin with a tin trash can top and woke me and the people up at 7:30 am. I was so tired and hungry in the morning when I woke up so I showered so I wouldn't have a bed head. When I went to the dining hall I could smell the food it smelled so good that my mouth watered, when we got done singing I ate so much food I felt like throwing up. We had are first three hour hike are first hike was so fun Dylan and I had to find a tree that we felt when we were blind folded.
When I got back me and my friends ate lunch, we had a spill at the table every time. The girls were the ones that spilled most of the time. When we got done eating I was ready to go to sleep, but we still had a walk. Free time was the time we all got to hang out with are friends and play, it was so much fun me and Blaze came to the same place to talk to each other at camp that was the most I talked to Blaze since the beginning on the school year.
One thing I could do without is the girls stomping all night you couldn't get any sleep. The last fire was the best time of camp. We all preformed skits. On the last morning we had a three hour hike. When we had to pack our stuff so we could get ready to go home, we put it in a trailer and went to our bus.

There is three particular things about camp Oty Okwa that was awesome. Like Going to the caves(Hidden Cave, 7 Dwarf Cave, and Concealers Cave), and getting free time between are three hour hikes, split rock, a guy came with some snakes, scavenger hunt, final camp fire, and my most favorite skits.
Now I like the skits because I think they were funny. Each trail group had to do one even the teachers did one. There were 11 trail groups there. My favorite one was the teachers skit.
My 2nd favorite thing was split rock. The reason why I like split rock is because it was big and there was lots tight areas you can go though. The funny part about it was that I got lost and someone had to help us get out.
My last favorite thing were the caves. They were huge. It takes for ever to get to some of them. But once you get there they look amassing. At mostly all the caves I went and seen had frozen water falls.
And those are the top three things I liked about Camp Oty Okwa.
There were 4 different classes we did. Forest Ecology, Geology, Survival, and Orienteering.
Now I'm going to tell you what I learned at camp.
Forest Ecology: Sycamore trees can only grow in wet areas. Hemlock trees almost only grow at bottom of the hills.
Geology: it takes along time for rocks to form. Most of the rocks at camp were Sand Stone.
Survival: Dead and dry Hemlock branches are good for fires. To build a hut you need a big Y shaped branch a log stick to put on the Y then you need to put branches on the sturdy branch and cover it in 3 feet of leaves. make sure the door faces east.
Orienteering: You always have to have to have the arrow named Fred facing forward. You have the red arrow named Red facing North in the shed. One pace is two steps.

The whole sixth grade took a trip to Camp Oty' Okwa.It was a blast. I had so much fun. When we were there, we had 2 classes everyday. I liked them all. But, I did have a favorite. Survival. There were so many different things that I learned. It didn't even seem like school. It felt like fun.
The thing that made it really special for me was getting to spend time with my friends and meeting new people. I think it's cool to be able to spend time with my friends on a trip. Because you never really get to go on a camping trip with your friends, so that made it really special for me. Plus, I got to make some new friends.
We had 4 classes. Forest ecology, Survival, Orienteering, and Geology. My favorite class was Survival. In survival, we learned how to make a shelter out of sticks and leaves. Then we got to make a fire and he told us the different things we could do to keep it going, like a piece of your sock or some dry leaves.
The thing that I liked the best was the meals. I sat with four of my friends. Jayci, Kara, Erica D and Tia. During every meal, me and Tia would laugh a lot and goof off. It made it really fun to sit with people I know instead of sitting with total strangers. We would always mess around with Kara and would laugh. Also, not to mention the food was really good.
I liked the trails most of all. I liked going in the caves and on Split rock. Split rock was so much fun.The thing that I will always remember is when we went to split rock. I had a blast. It was so fun to explore the caves with my friends. When we where going through one of the tunnels, Carlee got stuck in the entrance and couldn't get out. It was so funny and I don't think I will ever forget that. I wish I could go back to camp because there is this one thing that I regret not doing was forgetting to take my camera to Counselor's Cave.
Well, that was what I did at camp. I had a blast. I wish I could go back there.Well, that's all. Hope you enjoyed reading about my experience at Camp Oty' Okwa.

Last week the sixth graders at Salt Creek Intermediate went to Camp Oty' Okwa. It was lots of fun! Mr. McGuire told his students, including me, to write and essay on what we enjoyed about camp. Here is what I have to say!
What I mostly enjoyed about camp, was going to Split Rock. Going to Split Rock was really fun, and I wish I could stay there. I think, when I look back at Camp in a few years, I will remember going downhill, just to get to Split Rock. But all the hiking to get there, was definitely worth it!
At Split Rock I was messing around with two of my friends, that were in my trail group. We found an area that looked really cool. We decided to make it our "house" while we were there. Every time someone came close, we each went to an opening that allows someone to come in, and guarded it until the coast was clear. It was really fun!
Hanging out with my friends was also really fun. We would just sit down on someone's bunk, and talk, and mess around. At night we would get out my flashlight, cause it works better than LED lights, (For telling spooky stories, that is) and we would tell spooky stories until it was time for lights out. Just hanging out with my friends is probably what made Camp a really special event, for me.
Camp is something I will never forget! I will always remember being surrounded by all my friends and seeing their smiling faces. Especially when we saw all those snakes! There was smiles everywhere! I hope to go to camp another time, it was really fun!
