Hello today I will be posting about our trip to the McDowell Exchange school at Logan Elm. I hope you enjoy. Also comment what you thought of the trip.
We left Salt Creek Intermediate at 11:00 in the morning. The whole way to McDowell me and my buddies were really excited to finally see the McDowell school. When we got there I was full of excitement. I really wanted to visit the language arts teacher to ask her if she has ever read the Harry Potter series. So when we got to her class I ask her and she said that she was on the fourth book right now!
As the day went on I had a great time. Math class sounds really fun but there is going to be another teacher so I am curios who the teacher will be and if she's nice. Social Studies sounds ok because it sounds like there will be a lot of reports. What I am excited about is that the teacher said that we will be doing lots of group stuff.
Language arts seems really fun. The most exciting thing is that you have to read at least 20 min. out of the school every day! I know I will be reading a lot more than that. The only downfall is that you have to take a test to find out what your reading level is. Also I wish that the library was more full of books than computers. Science seems pretty good. The way the teacher expressed herself made it really interesting. Also she showed us a phew labs that were presentations on Google Docs. They looked really fun. Next she told us some of the labs that the seventh graders did this year. The Roller Coaster lab sounds like the funnest lab there! Also there was one on display that worked. It was really cool because the theme made it look like the Coaster was under construction.
I never buy lunch but the cafeteria food there smells really good. I like tater tots so my buddy gave me one and it was DELICIOUS! Also the cafeteria was big so everybody could fit. I have only seen round tables in movies and there were round tables there! I made sure that I sat at a round table.
The High School band was amazing. The played the song Let It Go and it was played to perfection. I don't do band but I like to listen to the bands. Also the High School choir was awesome. That made me want to do choir. The harmonies were excellent. The guys were singing in a low voice and the girls matched it but with a high voice. Now I will talk about the art teacher. She was really funny because when it was time to go back to the auditorium she was freaking about because she thought she had more time. I think I will really get along with the art teacher.
As you can tell I really am looking forward to going to McDowell. All the the teachers seem amazing and really looking forward to having us too. Please comment what you thought of McDowell. Also tune in for the next topic.

Hey it's Wyatt here talking to you about the trip to McDowell. It was really fun. We had 30 min. in each class here at Salt Creek and when we got threw all the classes the buses were all here to take us. We left at 11:00. When we got there we all filled in the seats in a room by the cafeteria. We had the principle and a couple of other people introduce them selves.
After that we ate lunch. Everyone went back to the room and the High school choir was in the room when we got there. After they were done we split up in groups and we were off to the first classroom. The first classroom I went to was social studies. After that we went to math. Than we went to science. Then after that we went to language arts. Then the librarian talked to us in the library and finally we went to the art room.
After we were done in all the rooms we went back to the big room that was by the lunch room and the High school band was there and they played a couple of songs. When they were done they called for car riders and me and all the others went outside and was waiting for are car.
It was fun at McDowell middle school and I can not wait to go there next year. My first thoughts were I am not going to like going to middle school, and I would probable get lost. But now my thoughts are I am going to enjoy being in 7th grade, but I still might get lost. But no matter what happens I am sure it will be a good year.

My thoughts are nervous and excited. But I don't like the fact that we don't have recess. But I like that the classes are shorter.I also like that we get bigger lunches. Salt Creek lunches are like appetizers to me. I almost always get extra food when I pack.
I also like that their are extra activities. Like art as a regular class. At Salt Creek we have art every two weeks. I absolutely love the fact that we don't need to line up to go to the bathroom or lineup to switch classes you just go when the bell rings. And you get three minutes to go to your locker.
I also think that it is a good idea that I can have a study hall as a class to study or do home work in and to do my homework in so if I have sports I don't need to do them when I get home. I can just take a shower sleep for the next day of school. I'd like that 8^).
Also I think it is cool that we have a librarian. I also think it is cool that we have A.R. points instead of reading three hours a week. I love that. I always have baseball games in Chillicothe
These all sound like cool things but I am still nervous because I don't know what it will turn out to be. Maybe it is like a maze when your go to your locker. I hope that art is fun I, hope that the lunches are good. If these turn out like they should I shouldn't be nervous at all.

I think middle school will be fun and hard. I have that opinion because you won't have a teacher telling you to line up with the same kids and taking you to lunch. Also you won't have the same kids in your class. That give's us a little more freedom. To do what we need to do like in guided studies and W.I.N. Also some seventh graders were talking about all the fun things that you will get to do at McDowell. Like the roller coasters in science.
I also think middle school will be hard because your going to have to remember your classes, your lunch, your locker combination and your bus. Also the teachers say they try to give homework every night. Another thing is I talked to some seventh graders and they were saying that the teachers are nice and fun until you mess up. They also said that you shouldn't do something dumb to get a bad reputation.
Overall I think that middle school will be fun. You'll get see more people, get more help, have more freedom and have fun. It might not be fun at first but from what I've heard and seen I think these are going to be the best years of school yet.

One of my thoughts were its going to be really fun next year because we have no one leading us around so we have a little more freedom. Also we have a class called winn where we get time to do whatever we want but we either have to be in a class room or the library but its still going to be a blast. One thought that I had that's going to be really cool is in each class we have different class mates in each class so you'll have all new friends .
One more thought I had that I thought it's really cool how we get to choose between Choir band or guided study or choir and band.I chose guided study time . I think that will help me because sometimes I need help on my homework sometimes.
I also I think gets going to be a little scary at first because we will have all new teachers next year and we will have to learn there rules. Also its going to be a lot different next year. For example instead of reading so many minutes we have to read so many Ar points you get Ar points for reading certain books.Or next year in science class we can study on our phones. But at the end of all of that I still think McDowell is going to be a blast. One thing next year i'm going to be sad about is I wont see my teachers I had this year. One more thing that is bad about next year is I wont see all of my friends from this year.I also won't ride a shuttle bus with them no more either. But at the end of all of that I still think McDowell is going to be a blast.

I think that McDowell will be fun but it might also be hard because I think I'm going to get lost a lot. It looks so confusing the only place I really remember is the cafeteria. That's not going to get me very far. I also feel like my locker will be the one farthest away from all of my classes.
The reason I think McDowell will be fun is we will finally be responsible enough to get to our own class and to get our self to lunch and get our self to the bus. We wont have a teacher right there beside us telling us when and where to go. Of course sometimes that could be bad.
With all of the work the teachers talked about it could be really hard but easy at the same time. It seems like it will be harder than sixth grade but not like so hard that I wont be able to do it. I think if a really try my hardest 7th grade will wont be as hard as it seemed.
For my elective I took choir because all my friends took it but I'm also thinking about track too. Now I think I'm really going to like choir because I like to sing just not when people are around. With track I don't know if I want to do it because I never really liked sports but I might now.
I feel like next year will be a good year if I just try to work my hardest and get to my classes on time. If its not a good year at the beginning well I guess I will have to try harder. But I'm sure I will have an amazing year not just good but amazing.

I have many thoughts about McDowell which one of the things I do like is every time we switch classes we won't be with the same people every time. Which is a good but new way to start talking to people you've never really talked to. Being able to go to different classes with different people will also let you hear different opinions then what you know others think.
Another thing I wasn't for sure about is in Lunch there isn't really a big range of where to sit at I mean I know people have Lunch a, b and c but the tables don't really have that much of a choice to sit at. Also, The tables look close together so if two people scoot back at the same time that's sitting at the circles tables will they run into each other?
The teachers seem nice and all they want you to do is be able to succeed whatever it takes for them to do. The teachers all seem like they work together in a way to make sure nobody will fail any of there classes. I think when everybody gets to McDowell they will love the teachers and love being able to succeed. Especially for the people that want too succeed but can't do it on there own.
One thing I did learn about having a day at McDowell is they expect you to have responsibilities just like every other day or school but you can't just mess around now that they are letting you be free sand trusting you with these responsibilities. But the teachers said "they expect more out of us now that we will be in 7th grade and in middle school."
Something I didn't like is to get to one of the Language Arts class you have two options that look the exact same. So if you go one way its the Language Arts class but I'm not sure what the other entrance is for because our tours didn't take us in that specific room. That's one thing that everyone that has that class will have to get use to.

McDowell what is it? How do I feel about it? Is it good? Is it bad? Homework? How it going to change my life? Will I get to see my friends? Or will I even remember my schedule find my classes? Understand everything? Help I can't do this.
McDowell is a school that I am going to next year. It is for 7-8 and I will be in seventh. But I'm nervous of going from the big kid to little kid. Even when we were at McDowell for the tour all of the seventh graders were like "look at all the little kids." I we are only a year younger than them.
I don't think McDowell is going to be bad but I also do not think that McDowell is going to be good ether. The reason why I think it is going to be bad because I will not be able to use calculators because it is going to be really hard also switching and only having three minutes to do it.
McDowell is going to effect my life by having more homework and I do not like to do homework but I still do it but more means busy. Especially when I want to do three different think and I think all of them are after school. Which is softball(after school), girl's basketball(after school), flag ( after school).
One of the main things that I am worried about is not being able to see my friends. I have a lot of friends but I might not get to see them that much. I know some friends that are doing quire with me. But my best best best friend is not doing quire or any of the sports with me. So that only leaves class and we can't talk during class. I am really nervous that this could ruin our relationship.
I am nervous about McDowell. I am nervous because what if I can not remember my classes. Or stuff I need for that class.
What do you think about McDowell? I hope you guys liked my post and my points of McDowell.

Well you asked me what are my thoughts about McDowell? My thoughts are I think it's a lot bigger than here at Salt Creek. I'm excited about going to Jr. High. I think I'm gonna be nervous because I won't know where my classes are and how to do my locker combination and all these things are gonna pile up than I'm gonna be worried. But I think from are visit that I'm gonna like it. The people I met there were so friendly and nice and they weren't mean.
I like all the teachers there, especially the art teacher she seems so funny and shes a really outgoing teacher I really like her. We only met her once and I'm already excited to go to art. I'm also excited to see who my teachers are because I only met some of them. Some of them were at Washington D.C. My thought about McDowell that go with this is you have to like the teachers or you won't have a good year. I'm gonna like all the teachers. ( I hope.)
One thing I learned about McDowell when I was there was It's really big and you only have 3 minutes in between classes. I'm afraid that I'm gonna be late to class. But I learned that you can't just wait and see where your going because you are gonna be late and if your late three times that you get lunch dentition where you don't get to sit by any of your friends. I know you didn't ask about this but I wanted to talk about the things I learned. I also learned that your up and moving all the time.
McDowell is gonna be a great experience for me. Not just all the 7th grade teachers just teach 7th grade but they teach 7th-8th grade to. I saw like some of the classes were doing like a roller coaster that was in one of the class's there was baseball that was a game they were doing and other things. I'm so excited to be part of the 7th grade family.

I am especially going to be lost in McDowell. Maybe we can get lost together.

What did I think about McDowell? I thought that it was better than Salt Creek Intermediate. I think that the day will go by a lot faster than this year because there is more classes in McDowell and i think that I will get lost in there because it is so big. I think that it will be harder than this year this year is hard too but I think next year will be harder. I think they have good food to.

What are Your Thoughts about going to Jr. High? I am so ready for Jr. high. I am ready for more classes new teachers lockers instead of tubs and most of all I am ready to be in choir. But there are two things I am sure I will do I will get lost but that is why we have teachers that are there to help us and I will always make sure I have my schedule with me at all time and the 2nd thing is I will forget my locker code so that is why I will write it down every day ( and those things we have to have on our locker I will do that all summer). :-) One of the teachers I liked when we went to visit the Jr.high was Mrs. Griffey she looked like she really loves teaching and she looks like she is fun. Thanks for reading bye-bye I also can not wait for choir. I also LOVED Mrs.Griffey. I love your ideal of remembering your combination and classes I will use them.

What are Your Thoughts about going to Jr. High? McDowell was okay. I liked most of the teachers. But I don't think I'm ready for the change. I also think that it is way to confusing! I liked the teachers. My favorite teacher was Mrs. Griffy . She was funny, and she sort of reminded me of my mom. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I also liked the math teacher, she was really nice. She seemed really sweet. I really liked the art teacher, too. She was hilarious. After every 15 words she'd say was crap. I really liked the teachers. I don't think I'm ready for the change because I don't think I want to go there. I want to stay here at Salt Creek. I think I'm a little bit afraid as well. But I think when I get there it will be okay. Because I am in choir, and I'll do sports, and I'll have my best friends there. We all have to grow up sometime! I think it is confusing because there are 4 classes and right in the middle of the four classes is the library. I think with my wonderful skills of knowing my directions I will definitely be lost. I am very grateful that we have teachers to help us get where we are going. I don't think I'm ready for McDowell, but I think my teachers and the McDowell teachers think other wise! I think I might be afraid at first but I'll be okay! I'm also just happy because McDowell has air conditioning! McDowell will be fun. I'm just afraid. I don't know what of, but I'll get there.... hopefully! Good job lot of detail

So this year is over and moving to Jr. High. I think Jr. High will be awesome. I like the way they rule the school. You have 3 minutes in between classes, you have win period and a bunch more stuff than what we do know. There is school sports. It all comes around to make a great next year.
We are going to McDowell Exchange School and it's pretty new and has a nice gym. I think I will really like Jr. High and everything a lot better.
