What is Your Favorite Genre?
My favorite genre is probably fiction. I like this genre because with fiction, you can do anything. You can be in a land of fairytale characters, or where children can be spies. You can be in the 1500's, with Sherlock Holmes, or fighting off a giant! With fiction, there is literally everything! There is just a possibility for everything!
I enjoy fiction books, so that is mainly what I read. I have read a few different series that are fictional. I have read two series of The 39 Clues. The reason of course that they are fiction is because the main characters, Dan and Amy, are kids. They are spies in a long line of family history of feuding. Of course, a child spy isn't possible. The books wouldn't make sense in any other category because it just isn't possible for a kid to be a secret agent or spy.
Another series, The Sisters Grimm, has its own twist. The main characters, Sabrina and Daphne Grimm live in a town with fairytale characters. They have to fulfill their legacy and be fairytal detectives! They use magic, and the animals in town talk! These things are impossible. First of all, magic isn't real. There are no witches flying around on flying broomstick with their wands held high. There aren't shoes of swiftness making you go faster than an airplane. Second, the three little pigs don't walk around like humans talking to everybody like normal! The big bad wolf doesn't live in the locked room upstairs, living like normal.
I love fiction because anything and everything can happen! I hope you enjoyed my post!

Today I'm going to be telling you what my favorite genre is and why it is my favorite. I will be telling about the book that affected my choice and how it fits in my favorite genre. My favorite genre is definitely realistic fiction. Realistic fiction is my favorite because it always seems to make me want to keep reading until my whole book is over. To me, realistic fiction is the most exciting genre of all. In realistic fiction, the story could be about almost anything as long as it could happen in real life. I really like that about realistic fiction because the story feels so real when I read it and the story never gets boring when it's like that. The books that have affected my choice of realistic fiction are The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Colins and Divergent, by Veronica Roth. I love both of those books so much! They are both really exciting and I read both books really fast because they were so good. Divergent affected my choice of realistic fiction because of all of the detail about the adventures and action that's happening in it. There is always so much detail about all that is happening to Tris, (the main character) and Tobias, (Tris' instructor and boyfriend). When I read this book, I really did feel like I was right there with Tris and Tobias in the same situation. For example, there is one part in the book where the Erudite run an attack simulation on the Abnegation. Tris is Divergent so the simulation doesn't work on her. While the simulations running, Tris tries to go in Erudite headquarters to destroy the simulation. Tris was doing something very dangerous and she got shot in the shoulder. I got so into the book I really felt like I was with her the whole time. The Hunger Games affected my choice because of all of the excitement and action in it. For example, The Hunger Games is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen. There are twelve districts and Katniss lives in district twelve. Each year there is a reaping in each district for kids ages twelve through eighteen, where they reap one boy and one girl to do the Hunger Games. Katniss was picked for the girls to go. The Hunger Games is a thing ran by president Snow when one boy and one girl from each district go into an arena and kill each other until there is one living person left. While Katniss was in the arena there was so much excitement and action it had my heart beating a mile a minute! The Hunger Games and Divergent both fit into realistic fiction because both stories are about something that could happen or could be real. Although the people aren't actually real and the stories aren't about something that actually happened, they still could be real and the things people use in the stories are usually real. Well now I've told you about my favorite genre and why I love it! I hope you enjoyed!

I really like mystery because you just want to find out more and you can't stop reading. I am always reading mystery books. The suspense and jaw dropping type of books are the kind I like. My favorite type of book is a mystery I love mysteries they are so exiting. Mrs.McGuire is reading a book called the watchers and it is a big time mystery. Its about this boy who ACCIDENTALLY KILLED HIS BEST FRIEND. They were playing on the ice and his best friend feel through and so did hector and hector got pulled up but his best friend didn't so now he lives in guilt and he found this cam recorder that was in the woods when they were playing lazier tag and he took it home but one of his other friends drop it on the road and they all thought it was broken but when Hector looks through it he can see the past and none of his friends believe him but he is actually telling the truth and he is thinking about going back to the lake and stop the death of his best friend because like I said he can see the past with the little cam recorder. And that is a really good mystery because when the teacher say's the watchers say Du Du Du Du then he stops the story so you have to guys what is going to happen next it really gets me thinking and that is the kind of story I like to read the ones that make you think what is going to happen next.

The type of books I like best are adventure. Adventure books are good books to read because they'll never get boring. They'll always make you wanting to keep reading. You'll always be satisfied when your done reading.
Some adventure books will talk about an adventure to the bottom of the ocean other will talk about going to the moon and having it go wrong. They all keep you wanting read the next book in the series or just another adventure book.
There are lots of good adventure books like I Survived, The eleventh Plague and the Mike Lupica series. So that's why you should read adventure books.

What type of books do you like best? Do you like realistic fiction, mystery, science fiction, romance, adventure, futuristic/alternative society, humor, horror, nonfiction, or some other genre? Explain what makes a genre your favorite. Tell about a book within that genre and how it affected your choice. How does that book fit within the genre? Please give specific examples and details.
My Favorite genre is probably sports because I love to read about stuff like that. I probably like them the most because I know so much about sports. Even if it is not about a real player like Box Out by John Coy (A really good book) its about a guy who isn't a real life person. I also like sports biographies about sports players. Roberto Clemente By Paul Robert Walker (also a great book) doesn't really mater what kind of sport.
Some sports books that affected my choice would be a book called Linspired by Mike Yorkey it was a great book. It changed my point of view on Jeremy Lin. I thought he was just a Asian American who could play good basketball and well with the book it tells how he has so many things to become a good player and how he strugled but didn't give up on his career of Basketball and just went full go till he got is dream to come true.
This book fits in the genre because its about a basketball player and basketball is a sport. It is also a really popular sport and Linsanity is a real thing in sports its still talked and it happened about two to three years ago. When he retires it will be on his profile in the Hall Of Fame. It is in a sports genre for a reason these are some.

My favorite genre is realistic fiction. I love reading about stuff that could happen, but didn't happen. Some books I've read that are realistic fiction are: Rescue Josh McGuire, The 39 Clues Series, Out Of My Mind, Storm Warning Dogs Of The Drowned City, and some more I can't remember.
One of my favorite books I've ever read was Out of My Mind. It's about a girl who is paralyzed and can't talk. It's about her journey through life. It's realistic fiction but it could really happen. There could be a girl out there who has the same problems as Melody. That was one of the books that made me love realistic fiction.

My favorite genre would have to be a horror, horror is something I like to read because, it just makes me get chills up my spine and it's just really interesting. Last I read one, I'm not reading one now, I didn't stop reading. It normally takes me a week or two to finish a book, but that book, it didn't even take 3 days.
My favorite author is Mary Downing Hahn. She makes me want to just keep on reading and never put the book down, last book I read of hers was 'Look For Me By Moonlight' it was amazing! I read in only in a few days cause I wouldn't put it down. I always had that book in my hand. She is an amazing author so if you like horror, fantasy and etc., then go look for some of her books!
