I think students should have homework but not too much. Not too much that it makes your backpack weigh 500 pounds, just enough to make you remember what to do. I hate when teachers tell me that if I don't get it done in class that I have to take it home, and then give 2 pages of nothing but spelling or multiplying, stuff that we already know . I think if it is something we already have down, don't give homework for it. It's kind of weird. Like I don't even have to ask my parents to check it! For example, usually in the HALLWAY we usually have to read, and occasionally study for a science test or a math sheets. Nothing that important. We always have reading homework. Mr. McGuire says that we have to at least read 15 minutes 4 times. Mrs. Hardin usually teaches good enough in class that most of us understand it, but if it's a hard subject she gives us homework. Mrs. Webb rarely gives homework. Ms. Huysman gives homework just for test. Or occasionally she gives it to us for information. I only think a little bit of homework is good enough. Not 500 pounds worth, but just right. It's like the 3 bears. The 500 pound is to big. None is too small. Enough is just right! I think we should only get very few homework assinments because we usually we go over it in class. Also some kids have sports and it makes it hard to do homework.I also think we should have a lot a homework in sixth grade because this year set's are life up because if you have good grade's you take advance classes in seventh and eighth grade then high school then collage. So the more homework we get the more grades we get the better chance we have to get good grades. Also we will get a good job when we grow up. This is a great example. I like this example because I play play lots of sports and it's hard to get homework done when you have like a game or practice. I love your reason why we should. I love it because I don't mind it sometimes. Also it agree it helps us to get a better grade.

I think that students should have homework because it helps exercise our brains. I thing that we should not have HUGE amount of homework. The reason that I think we should not have a HUGE amount of homework is because if we work our brains to much we will be burned out.We will not be ready for school the next day because we would of been up late doing homework.

I agree with you Griffin, I mean having a lot of homework does take up a lot of our time and a little bit of home is enough to bring up a bad grade. I think this was the best post about this question . I think students should have homework but just a little bit too, because sometimes if you have to much homework you can get angry and you can loose focus so I do agree with you Griffin.

I think that students should have homework I mean nothings bad about homework its just going over the stuff that you have been learning in the past week or so. Homework is such an easy thing if I just listen to the teacher and make sure that I'm understanding everything that your suppose to do to find the answer. I think that students should at least get homework three to four times a week. It shows the teachers how much you know the subject. If you miss like lots of questions they will know that your not really understanding it and then they will try to just keep going over it until you feel more confident about what your learning about. So if you have a test about the topic you won't fail the test you will get at least a b. I don't think that homework really hurts at any point of time. Homework is just going over everything that you have been talking about. The only reason I could see myself or anyone getting a bad grade on the homework is if they haven't been paying attention in class or just simply don't quite understand everything that has been going on in class and what we have been talking about. I think that teachers sometimes give homework because it shows them if you just don't understand what your learning, if you know and understand the subject or if you just don't feel like doing it. I think that teachers are smart for giving kids homework because it shows the way they think. Also it shows how different we found our answers to the question or how we messed up on finding the answer to the problem/ question. I love this example. It is a great example. This is like something I would say.

I think we should have homework. We shouldn't have a huge pile of homework we should just have a little bit just the right amount. It helps us get smarter to learn what it's about. Teachers give homework because they want us to understand the problems and the work more. I think that we should have homework. If we didn't have homework we wouldn't understand as much as what were supposed to do. My ideas are that we need to get smarter well yah we get smarter learning at school. If we have homework we take it home and try to understand it more. I hope that everyone feels the same way. This is why I think we should have homework! I agree that we should have homework. I also agree that we shouldn't have loads of homework but we should have some. If we don't have homework then how are we going to learn stuff better? If we don't learn learn stuff better than how are we going to get into a nice collage? If we don't go to collage then we won't have a good job that pays really well. All I'm trying to say is If we don't have any homework at all then where are we going to be in life. I 100% agree with you Lexi.

I do think we should have homework but not to much. I think we should get homework from a different teacher on different days. I think to much homework is a terrible idea. I love Mr. McGuire's class because he doesn't give us any homework except for reading. But, if you like to read, then it's not a big deal. It's like you don't have any homework at all. I like homework but not to much. I think teachers should not give us so much. The reason we have school is to do work. So, why do we need HOMEWORK? ?? We go home for a break not to do more work. To much homework is a pain. What if you are busy and don't have time to do it. So we should only get a little.

My opinion on how much homework a sixth grader should have is just a small amount. Like our reading homework is fine because if we don't get it done we can do it braves, and you have until Friday to complete it, cause just reading 15 minutes for at least four days isn't that bad. I say just a small amount of homework should be fine. Like maybe half a page. I don't think we should get homework if we already know what the homework is and if we learned about it the year before.
I think we should have homework though. Homework can really help out our grade if you have a bad grade in that subject. I think the only time to get homework is if we are just learning about the lesson. I don't think we should have homework if it was something we were working on in class and didn't finish because what if we don't get it and our parents don't either?

It can lower your grade if you have a lot of homework and you mess up you can lower your grade and then you can get a bad report card. That is not good not good at all that is why I think we should only get very few homework assignments.

I think we should have homework. I think not a lot of homework but we should have at least two things. I say this because I don't really we need a lot but we need some so we can get smarter. It helps us get smarter. It could be bad because we might understand or something. I think teachers give us homework so we can get smarter.

I think that we should have homework. We should have at least one paper every now and then but not a lot of homework every night. We should have at least one homework every now and then because so we no what to do when we come to school the next day.
Like on a test and class work. Because we will need to know what to do because at the end of the year the whole school will have big test. In mostly every class and you will need to know what to do.

Students should have a little bit of homework but not way to much. We need some for the teachers to know if we get it when there not there to explain it to us, we need it for responsibility, and if we don't get it done in class. I can see why we have that homework but sometimes teachers go overboard. With them giving us homework to see what we know the teachers see what we need to go over a little bit more. On the test they're not going to be there to help us. Also when we get older they wont be there. It gives us responsibility. We are responsible to not lose our home work and to do it. When we get older we are really responsible. So we do need to know to be responsible because one day we might have kids and that is a human being you will be responsible for. Some time we just have homework for what we don't have time for in class or we don't get done and class. That homework I see why we ave it sometimes. But not with every paper we don't get done some need to stay home work not school work. Teachers go over board with this kind of home work but we still have to do it we are responsible to do it. I agree with you too.

Yes I think 6th grade students should have homework. I think 6th graders should have homework because if they do it with their parents than their parents have an idea what there doing in that subject. I think that 6th grade students should have a least a page of homework for every subject. I think that homework helps because you are doing it in school and out of school so it stays in your brain. It also helps you understand classwork. I think the only negative affect on homework is that some kids don't like it because they have been at school all day and you just want a break. But I don't feel that way.I think teachers give you homework because they want you to understand what you do in class. Go Homework!!! I feel the same way. I love homework and think we should get at least a page a day for each class. I know that most kids want a break I don't get why I mean it's not going to hurt you. If you exercise your brain plus it's good for the brain and the body!

The question of the week for this week is probably one of the hardest of all, because honestly I don't like homework. I think that students should have homework sometimes, but not always.
I think that the amount of homework that we as sixth graders at Salt Creek is reasonable. As sixth graders I think that we need homework sometimes. I think that reading four times for fifteen minutes each is fine. It is a great way for us as kids not to be bored at home and bugging our parents like crazy!
The only problems are when teachers choose to put a bunch of tests on one day. We have to study for each of them and it gets really confusing on how to sometimes. Also, when they give us papers, most of the time they give it to us on the same day. I also forget to bring home my homework when I am rushed to go to the cafeteria after school to be picked up.
I have a thirty-five minute drive home, and I have to wait for about forty-five minutes for my brother to get out of school. When I get home, I have to do my homework then. It doesn't leave that much time to do my own thing, so I don't really like it.
Although I think that homework can be needed, I don't think I really needs to be on a regular basis. I really don't like homework, but it can help us to understand what we're doing in class if we're confused, so it has it's own pros and cons. I just think it isn't really needed.

I think students should have homework because it teaches students more about the subject. So your parents can try to teach it to you if you didn't understand the way the teacher explained it. Maybe your parents can figure out a different way to explain it to you. I think students should have about two papers in each subject. That way the student will learn more about the subject.
Homework can hurt your brain sometimes too. If we had a big test that day I don't think we should have homework. Our brains might not think straight.
